What causes warping?
There are two potential causes of a canvas panel that has been warped. To start if you’re using a paint that is watery, it is possible for the paint to seep through the canvas and into the cardboard that’s attached to the back, this will then cause the canvas panel to warp. The next is, when using acrylic paint especially, the paint will tighten and "shrink" as it dries, which will cause the canvas panel that the paints on, to warp.
