When the weather cools and the leaves start to drop, it’s the perfect time to dive into fall arts and crafts. Whether you’re looking for weekend fun, school holiday activities, or just something to keep little hands busy, we’ve gathered a bunch of easy, autumn-themed projects that are full of charm. You don’t need to be a crafty expert — just some basic supplies, a sprinkle of imagination, and a bit of fun!

With just a few cut-out shapes and some fallen leaves, you can create a pair of woodland fairies! Use paper for the faces and arms, then glue on real leaves for wings and skirts. These fairies are ideal for pretend-play, decorating a plant pot, or adding a sprinkle of magic to the bookshelf. Just use markers or paint to add on their faces and play the day away!

🖍️ Cloth bag painting

If you live up north, get into the Halloween spirit with a DIY tote bag that’s just as fun to make as it is to use. Grab a plain canvas tote and some fabric markers or sticks to draw a friendly jack-o’-lantern face. This project is simple, mess-free, and makes a fab trick-or-treating bag – follow our tutorial for the step-by-step.

Bring the magic of autumn indoors with this colourful craft! Make an earthy background with watercolours (or add water to crepe paper for a colourful bleed-effect). Then pick out some potatoes, cut out leaf shapes to create a stamp, and go to town on your dry background with paint and your stamp! It’s a great way to explore colour mixing and texture, and the finished piece makes a lovely seasonal decoration.

🧙 Halloween clings

Create a bit of Halloween magic using Deco Pudge and a hobby knife! Simply mix Deco Pudge with paint, spread out and leave to dry, then cut out a seasonal shape. These clings will stick to your windows and non-porous surfaces for homemade decorations – best of all, they're removable, mess-free, and can be made into any shape for any season. Collect some fallen leaves from the backyard, press them into clay, and you’ve got your very own set of nature-stamped medallions! These can be left plain for a clean, natural look or painted after drying. You can even poke a hole through the top for a wearable or hangable design.
