If there’s one thing we know for sure, it’s that making art to suit your personality is super satisfying. Some people recharge by spending time alone, while others feel most themselves around people, whether that be close friends, family, or just soaking in the energy of a busy space.
If that sounds like you, your creativity probably might follow a similar rhythm. It shows up in shared moments, spontaneous plans, and ideas you want to talk about, try, or make alongside others.
These art ideas lean into that feeling. Think projects you can wear, bring into a room, create with friends, or take out into the world with you. It’s all about expressing yourself in a way that feels open, social, and true to you.
Disco ball painting: bring the party to your canvas

If you enjoy music, movement, and being around people, this one feels like a natural fit. A disco ball artwork captures the atmosphere of a party in a simple, colourful way.
Believe it or not, it’s pretty easy to make too! Follow along with our how-to video and you’ll have your own version ready in no time. Even on a quieter day, this painting still brings that sense of fun and movement into the room.
Painted denim jacket: wearable art

For extroverts, art doesn’t always have to stay on the wall. Painting your own jacket turns a relaxed creative sesh into your next talking piece when hanging out with friends. Or better yet, have them round and design jackets together.
This design was super simple to make – check it out on our site!
Upcycled vinyl: thrift trip!

Turn a crafternoon into a fun day out by thrifting your canvas. Head out to your local second-hand store and grab a vinyl to upcycle with acrylics and paint pens.
It’s not about making a perfect artwork – it’s more about setting up a day of exploring and creating. If you need some inspo or want to recreate our whale artwork, we have a tutorial you can follow.
Wolf drawing: independent, but still connected

This one reflects that balance between doing your own thing and still enjoying being part of a group. Yes, you like to run in a pack, but that doesn’t mean you aren’t an individual who has a lot to say!
If you haven’t tried oil pastels before, this is a great project to explore them with. They’re easy to blend for that sky gradient and fun to layer. Have a go and explore the project page.
DIY triptych: create with friends

Some projects work better when they’re done together, so why not make a triptych with friends? A triptych is a 3 part artwork, so tape down 3 pieces of paper side by side, and work with your mates to cover all three pages with unique designs.
When you’re done, remove the tape, and pop them on the wall next to each other to see how they make a larger artwork. We used Drawing Inks to make this project, but you could try paint, acrylic ink, watercolour, or really whatever medium you like!
Cassette painting: save them from landfill

Old cassettes have less and less purpose in today’s world… so why not save them from landfill and turn them into art?
We coloured some Modelling Paste with paint, then spread it onto our canvas before sticking the cassettes down. Then it was just a matter of painting them some fun colours and hanging it on the wall! Need more info? Head to our site.
Air dry clay coasters: made for hosting

If you like having people over, make some décor that starts a conversation.
These air dry clay coasters look just like real biscuits, so make your fave flavours and pop them out on the coffee table. We’ve got a handy how-to video on how to make them, so follow along solo or make a whole bunch with some friends.
Easy landscape art: paint and sip ready

Sometimes the best part of making art is just sitting down and doing it together.
A simple landscape like is ideal for hosting your own paint and sip. Either print out the reference and freehand your own version or play the video guide on your TV and follow along as a group. The fun part is, everyone starts with the same idea, but the results always end up slightly different.
Paint along: create with Jacklyn Foster

Even when you’re at home alone, you can still make alongside someone. Following along with an artist like Jacklyn Foster gives you that sense of doing something with company – plus she’s got super helpful tips!
It’s relaxed and easy to follow, and a good option if you want a bit of guidance without overthinking it. Check out her free lesson here.
Painted shoes: take your art out with you

Customising your shoes is a simple way to bring your creativity into your everyday life.
It’s subtle but personal, and something you can actually use rather than just display. Plus, having statement shoes is a great way to strike up a convo with friends, family, and even strangers! If you want to make the Mondrian style pictured, explore our project page.
Creativity doesn’t always have to be a solo activity. It can come from time spent with others, shared ideas, or making things that bring people together.
Whether you’re making something with friends, heading out to find your next project, or adding small creative touches to everyday items, it all counts.
