From making clay trinket trays to levelling up your plain plant pots, any of these crafty projects will make for a fun night in. 1. Air dry clay trinket trays

These cute trinket trays are trending all over socials, and it’s easy to see why. With just some air hardening clay and paint, you can create your own playful designs. Think clouds, florals, smiley faces or anything that makes you happy. Use them to store jewellery, coins, hair ties, or keep your keys in a place you might remember them!

2. DIY texture canvas

Make your own wall art in your fave colour palette. We even have a kit and instructions you can follow to recreate these ideas! Use a palette knife (or even a butter knife) to swipe on pastel-coloured paint in petals, scalloped or curved shapes. Layer them up for texture and dimension – there’s no need for a sketch or plan. Everyone can put their own spin on it to suit their own style!

3. DIY candle painting

Painted candles are having a major moment. All you need are some plain candles and a steady hand to turn them into mini masterpieces. Use acrylics or paint pens to add fruit, flowers, or leafy vines. They make great gifts or table centrepieces, and the process is surprisingly relaxing. Get the gang together to make some seasonal candles for Halloween, Christmas, Easter, and more holidays.

4. Acrylic pour clock

Feel inspired by the coast? Make some décor that takes you there no matter the time of day. Start by making a beachy inspired pour painting with SuperCell on a round painting board, then turn your creation into a wall clock. We love functional art! Make this in a group by following along with our how-to video – it’s super simple to recreate at home.

5. DIY painted vases

Grab a mix of ceramic vases (tip: op shops are a great place to hunt for them!) and give them a makeover with a bit of ceramic-ready paint. Go wild with colours, patterns and design – there are no rules here. This is a fun one to do with friends, especially if you go vase hunting together as part of the activity. Shopping + crafting = awesome day.

6. Make your own doormat DIY

Hand painted welcome mat placed at doorstep

Make your front door feel more like you with a personalised welcome mat. Cut a simple stencil out of thick paper or plastic, stick it down with tape, and dab on your design using a stiff-bristled brush and acrylic paint. Words like “hello,” “come in,” or your family name work well – or keep it quirky with something unexpected. We even have a how-to video you can watch to get your creativity flowing!

7. Decoupage terracotta plant pots

This one’s great for a sunny afternoon craft session outside. Grab some cute patterned napkins, separate the ply, and stick it to a terracotta pot using Deco Pudge. Overlap the pieces for a collage effect or simple cut them to shape before applying. Seal it and pop in your favourite plant to brighten up any windowsill. We’ve got the whole project mapped out step-by-step so you can follow along.

8. Oil pastel flowers

These little artworks are bold, simple, and all about exploring colour and shape. Use pastels to draw bold, colourblocked flowers on paper – no reference needed. The more playful and stylised, the better. Make a stack and use them as gift tags, cards or just fridge-friendly art.

9. Fruit clay coasters

Give your coffee table a summery touch with clay coasters shaped and painted like fruit slices. Think kiwi, grapefruit, dragonfruit… whatever catches your eye! Just roll out and shape the clay, dry, paint, and seal (check out the tutorial for in-depth steps). These make cute gifts too, especially bundled as a set. What fruit will you all craft?

Looking for more ideas? Grab some clay, paints, or Deco Podge and just experiment. For solo crafting or a night in with mates, these projects are low-fuss and full of personality.
